You may have heard of GoDaddy. In many ways they are the pioneer website hosting company, and in our analysis, they came in a very close second place finish.

GoDaddy is an effective one-stop shop for many consumers and has generated a lot of buzz over the years. They are very reliable and have very good technical assistance if you need it. Additionally, their value packages were all fairly good. Like Just Host, you get unlimited bandwidth and a few tools. But in comparison to the other hosting companies, that's where the value stops. For example, you only get 100 email accounts that come with the service. Further, you only get 10 database accounts at 1 GB each. While you might not need more than that, nearly every other hosting company provided an unlimited amount of data space, emails, and bandwidth. So, we found GoDaddy came up a little short when it came to the value of our first pick.

GoDaddy however was very strong when it came to reliability. With the dozens and dozens of sites we worked with, we found they were all up 100% of the time and running smoothly.

In recent years, GoDaddy has placed a strong emphasis on user-friendly interfaces. This is great from the average customer's perspective as this allows the new user to feel comfortable navigating their system. The large buttons and easy-to-navigate website was simply perfect and delightful to work with.

Despite coming in second, GoDaddy is a very strong web hosting solution for anyone wanting to launch a website and it gets our top second pick.

We chose HostGator as our third and final choice among the top hosting solutions we looked at. HostGator was simply impressive all around as a web hosting company to go with.

In recent years, Host Gator has stormed on to the hosting scene pushing the boundaries of great service and reliability, which is why they are now among the top tiered hosting companies.

In addition to their generous service packages, they deliver quite a few options for website owners that include unlimited disk space, unlimited bandwidth, and even a shared SSL certificate.

Yet, while they have great service, they have a variety of packages that may or may not be good for savings. In addition, we found that their user-interface was a tad confusing, at least when compared to our top two picks.

Yet, we were still very impressed with HostGator, who will be sure be in the running for the top two places in the coming year or so. It remains our strong third choice recommendation.
